Ph.D. candidate in Biochemistry at Stanford University (August 2014 - Present) B.A. in Biochemistry and minor in Chemistry at University of Colorado, Boulder: Graduated May 2014 Summa cum Laude I am currently working towards a Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Stanford, where I am studying the molecular mechanisms of cardiomyopathy. I also worked on developing HIV vaccines for a significant period of time. At CU Boulder, I graduated Summa cum Laude with honors as recognition of my honors thesis studying RNA structure.
Experience
I'm a graduate student studying biochemistry at Stanford, but I also love teaching and hope to both teach and do science in my future career. I'm happy to work with all ages, from elementary to undergraduate students, as I have experience with all levels (although my most extensive experience is with undergraduates and high school students). Resume highlights: As a Ph.D. candidate at Stanford: * Since coming to graduate school, I have tutored several high school students (over 150 hours total) in virtually every subject both privately and as a volunteer for underprivileged students - I specialize in chemistry and biology - I also enjoy tutoring writing and reading, and I excel at editing students' writing - I have also tutored math, physics, history, anatomy, physiology, and everything in between * I was a graduate teaching assistant for a graduate-level course in biochemistry and physical chemistry * I mentored high school students interested in science * I have worked in research labs for over six years, studying everything from RNA structures to HIV vaccines to the molecular underpinnings of cardiomyopathy * I designed and taught courses for Stanford Splash!
