I attended Brigham Young University on a National Merit scholarship, where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in History Education with a minor in math education. I have nearly 7 years of experience working with students. During these 7 years, I assisted in a college writing center, taught pre-algebra to middle school students, mentored students in other classes, and worked with young girls as a Sunday School teacher.As a former teacher, I feel as though I can effectively work with students to achieve their academic goals. I have seen firsthand what can happen when a student isn't comfortable with a subject. I strive to make students feel accomplished and have a better understanding in the area they are struggling in. I am currently available to tutor in a variety of subjects, though mathematics, history, and writing are my main areas of focus. I feel as though these three subjects offer core abilities that can be applied to other areas of life.While I love teaching, I am currently a stay-at-home mom to give my husband the opportunity to work toward his own education. I enjoy many activities, such as going for runs, playing board games with my family, reading books from various genres, practicing yoga, and having lunch with my friends.
