Experience
After graduating from Princeton University, I taught SAT prep classes for Kaplan for several years. Eventually, I became a elementary school teacher and instructional coach. I worked with students and teachers for over 15 years before beginning a doctoral program at Stanford University. During that time, I helped DC Public Schools develop its instructional materials aligned to the Common Core State Standards. I am very familiar with the "new math" being taught in elementary and middle schools, as well as the expectations for text-based responses in literacy.
