Private tutor in Stanford, CA

Education

I was born and raised in New Jersey. I am a native Spanish and English speaker because my mother is Ecuadorian (I love helping people practice their Spanish). I graduated from the Harvard College Class of 2014 with a degree in Neurobiology. Currently a second year medical student at Stanford Medical School.

Experience

I grew up tutoring my little brother (who is now a Junior at Harvard) so I feel like I have been teaching/tutoring my whole life. In high school, I tutored after school with the National Honor Society in all the classes I had taken (AP classes, honors classes, math, science, english, history). At Harvard, I tutored my classmates in subjects like Calculus I, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Biology, Neurobiology and more. I'm also great with general educational enrichment for children, as I have educated many of my little cousins and family friends my whole life. I also taught at a STEM enrichment program in Colorado for a summer during college. Finally, I am extremely familiar with the college and medical school application processes, so I would gladly assist with these processes (SAT/MCAT prep, essay writing, application planning, etc.). Honestly, I can tutor in any subject or help with anything you would like, just contact me and we can figure out something that works!

Hobbies

I love racquet sports like Tennis, Squash, and Badminton. I'm currently taking a recreational Golf class at Stanford. I love bouldering and outdoor activities like hiking and camping. I enjoy reading non-fiction books like "The Prize", "Emperor of All Maladies", and "The Steve Jobs Biography". I enjoy fiction like "Catch-22", "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao", and "Infinite Jest" (that last one is still in progress). And I love staying on top of the news with the NYTimes, the Atlantic, and the Economist. I also grew up playing the piano recreationally.
