EducationI'm a math and computer science major at Stanford university.
I love math and teaching math. I especially enjoy tutoring, since it gives me a chance to see math through the eyes of my student.
I tutor understanding rather than memorization. My goal is to teach students why something works and improve their critical thinking, rather than focusing on the what. I prefer to focus on how to tackle more general problems so that students are better prepared for exams.
I also enjoy working ahead in material with students, if they are interested in moving ahead of the curriculum, and I can assign extra practice, if the student needs/wants it.
ExperienceOver the past 6 years, I have privately tutored geometry, algebra II/trig, pre-calculus, calculus BC, multivariable calculus, ACT and SAT II math.
I was a teaching assistant for my high school's multivariable calculus class and I have peer tutored both writing and math in my high school's tutoring center.
I am a section leader for Stanford's introductory computer science sequence, where I teach weekly section and assist in the tutoring center.

Anna is an excellent tutor to work with. She tutors Pre-calculus and Geometry to my son and daughter respectively. They enjoy her tutoring style very much and have learned so well that they both got "A" for the semester grade. Anna is passionate, responsible, and a great role model for my kids!
